1. mesto za Univerzo v Mariboru na 23. mednarodnem tekmovanju Field Robot Event!

V ekipi tudi z mentor ter študenti iz FS UM

Med 16. in 18. junijem 2026 je na sejmu DLG Feldtage v Nemčiji potekalo 23. mednarodno tekmovanje poljedelskih robotov Field Robot Event, na katerem je sodelovalo 16 študentskih ekip iz Evrope in širše.

Ekipa Univerze v Mariboru je predstavila inovativni sistem za samodejno odstranjevanje plevela na polju špargljev. Rešitev združuje strojni vid, umetno inteligenco, robotsko roko in posebej razvito prijemalo, ki plevel zazna ter ga mehansko odstrani.

Gre za trajnostno rešitev, saj odstranjevanje poteka brez uporabe kemičnih sredstev – zgolj z natančnim mehanskim posegom.

Z inovativnim pristopom je ekipa Univerze v Mariboru dosegla odlično 1. mesto in premagala vse ostale sodelujoče ekipe iz Nemčije, Nizozemske, Italije, Norveške, Turčije, Kitajske, Poljske, Portugalske, Združenega kraljestva in Slovenije.

Študentsko ekipo so v študijskem letu 2025/2026 mentorirali doc. dr. Jurij Rakun s Fakultete za kmetijstvo in biosistemske vede, doc. dr. Mitja Truntič s Fakultete za elektrotehniko, računalništvo in informatiko ter izr. prof. dr. Simon Klančnik s Fakultete za strojništvo.

Pri razvoju in implementaciji rešitve so s strani FS UM sodelovali naslednji študenti:
Žiga Breznikar, Luka Kramolc, Matija Slapšak in Luka Pungartnik.

1st place for the University of Maribor at the 23rd International Field Robot Event!

From 16 to 18 June 2026, the 23rd International Field Robot Event took place at DLG Feldtage in Germany, bringing together 16 student teams from across Europe and beyond.

The University of Maribor team presented an innovative system for automatic weed removal in asparagus fields. The solution combines machine vision, artificial intelligence, a robotic arm and a specially developed gripper that detects weeds in the field and removes them automatically.

The system performs weed removal in a fully mechanical way, without the use of chemicals, making it a highly sustainable approach to precision agriculture.

With this innovative solution, the University of Maribor team achieved an outstanding 1st place, outperforming all other participating teams from Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Turkey, China, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Slovenia.

In the 2025/2026 academic year, the student team was mentored by Assist. Prof. Dr. Jurij Rakun from the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mitja Truntič from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Simon Klančnik from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
