Projects

The laboratory performs basic and applied research in the field of development of innovative processes for the sustainable preparation and/or functionalisation of textile materials, polymer films, membranes and aerogels (encapsulation, ink-jet printing, layer-by-layer application, sol-gel, electrospinning, freezing/casting, etc.) with chromic dyes, pigments and functional nano- or micro-particles to achieve unique properties such as electrical conductivity, UV protection, hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity, non-flammability, energy storage, thermal insulation, etc.

Together with the microbiology group at UM-FNM, the laboratory performs studies related to the static and dynamic production of bacterial cellulose, which includes in-situ and ex-situ techniques, chemical and biochemical modifications, and physicochemical analysis of products for medical and technical applications (e.g., fuel cells).
