The Lifelong Learning Center of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maribor is a modern educational space designed to promote the continuous development of knowledge, skills and competences. It was established within the framework of the project Introduction of a Supportive Environment for Lifelong Learning for Sustainable Engineering (Green2Eng), co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
The Center offers diverse, targeted short training courses for the needs of both the economic and non-economic sectors. The programs are tailored to different target groups:
- Short training courses (microcertifications) – short, specialized training courses that end with an official certificate of acquired knowledge.
- Training for companies – content-adapted programs to strengthen employee competencies.
- Programs for schools – technical days, workshops and longer training courses (up to 22 teaching hours) for primary and secondary schools.
- Extracurricular activities – additional content for students with the aim of facilitating the transition to the working environment after completing their studies.
The Center's operations are coordinated by an interdisciplinary team that takes care of program organization, technical support, promotion, and content development.
