The Chair of Construction and Design is responsible for the development of subject areas Construction and Engineering Design. Colleagues of the chair are dealing with issues and problems that arise in implementing the study process in the field of Construction within all cycles of Mechanical Engineering studies, and at the master's study programme Engineering Product Design. The Department also participates in the implementation of educational work at interdisciplinary study programmes Industrial Engineering and Mechatronics. It is also responsible for implementing certain basic courses in all these study programmes related primarily to the use of advanced computer tools in engineering. The chair directs and coordinates the educational work with basic scientific research work within scientific disciplines related to the study fields for which it is responsible. The members of the chair ensure that the latest scientific research findings and achievements, generated in the context of development projects for the industry, are transferred into the educational process to enrich the content of curricula at all levels of study.
